Ronna Stuller for City Council

“New London needs intelligent, cooperative action to responsibly achieve the basics of every good city: sound infrastructure, fairer fiscal burden, and equitable neighborhood representation.”

ENDORSEMENTS AND SUPPORTERS:

THE DAY: "Ronna Stuller, Green. Any council can benefit from considering some creative solutions, and Ms. Stuller can provide them. She trumpets the positives of urban living, with its environmentally friendly lifestyle footprint, walkable communities and diversity.

To ease the tax burden on homeowners, Ms. Stuller pushes for changes that would mitigate the higher tax assessments and higher tax bills owners pay for improving their properties. The city, she says, should seek financial assistance from the large non-profits located in the community. This retired educator deserves serious consideration." Full article

I WILL WORK TO:

Develop a fairer tax code that encourages home improvement, promotes infill development, and respects longtime property owners.

Invest in New London’s roads and sidewalks, in order to improve access, safety, and walkability.

Ensure that all neighborhoods are represented in city government by promoting charter revision which would provide for district representation.

Restore and maintain our city parks to improve the variety and quality of open space in New London.

Encourage creative reuse of historic buildings.
